Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant
What is millennial lazybones Mary (Hannah Lynch, Petrol) to do when one of the weirdest erotic encounters you’ll ever see leaves her expecting the patter of little human-alien feet in 72 hours? That’s just the start of a cheerfully outrageous tale that oozes all manner of slimy, jiggly alien goo and radiates the delicious dry wit New Zealanders do best. Surrounded by her alarmingly uninhibited mum, a nerdy semi-extra-terrestrial dad-to-be, and his uptight mother (Jackie Van Beek, Nude Tuesday, SFF 2022), Mary’s road to motherhood is a horror-comedy riot with a sharply satirical eye and a surprisingly big heart. If ever a film was – bad pun intended – ‘born’ to be in FMO, it’s this Kiwi cracker.
