FLUX foregrounds the cutting-edge of contemporary cinema, championing daring new work.  

This year’s program celebrates revelatory experiments with form, from a pixellated road trip through rural Georgia shot on an old mobile phone to a glitchy portrait of futuristic LA and a 16mm techno noir built around a machine that can photograph the past.

A teetering montage of blocky pixels, smeared chromatics and CGI voices cascade and collide in this hypnotic short.

Chronovisor

Shot entirely on an old phone to mesmerising effect, Georgian auteur Alexandre Koberidze’s latest is a stunning road trip mystery in 144p. Prize winner at Locarno 2025.

A prismatic, polyphonic tribute by six artists to Julius Eastman, a visionary queer African American composer and unsung pioneer of 20th century minimalism.
Maddie’s Secret
Comedian John Early balances satire and earnest melodrama in this acclaimed debut inspired by 1950s golden age Hollywood, campy daytime movies, and the ’90s classic Showgirls.

The Rites of When
Australian artist Angelica Mesiti’s transfixing single-channel film reimagines seasonal rituals through dance, electronic music, body percussion and polyphonic chanting.

One of the buzziest premieres at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Tycoon plays as Miami Vice for the doom scroll era. A glitchy, dystopian portrait of the City of Angels.
